What We Do

Pre-Kindergarten (Ages 4-5)

Scottdale’s Pre-K Program provides children with experiences that foster all these essentials for school readiness. We offer two Pre-K classes at the center from 8:30 am- 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Both of our Pre-K programs reflect an understanding of how children learn by emphasizing active learning, consistent daily routines, and the use of positive behavioral management and assessment strategies. The school readiness goals of our program provides appropriate preschool experiences emphasizing growth in language and literacy, math concepts, science, social studies, arts, health and physical development, and social and emotional competence.

HeadStart

Partnership for Community Action Head Start Pre-K program is a comprehensive early childhood program that develops social competence in children. Head Start programs are guided by a set of program performance standards that specify a wide range of services to ensure comprehensive care including health, education, parent involvement, and social services. A full day of instruction is provided five days per week for 36 weeks (180 days) per year to eligible four-year-old children. Families must meet Head Start’s eligibility requirements.
