The center extends our early childhood expertise to low-income, at-risk children and families who do not attend our center-based program. We provide child development information, support and encouragement to low-income, at-risk families in Scottdale who do not attend a Center-based child care program yet need help with their child’s development during the crucial early years of life. Parents as Teachers (PAT) uses home visits to provide research-based child development training and parenting support. Each visit will include the five essential elements of a personal visit – rapport, observation, discussion, parent-child activity, and summary. Play-N-Learn sessions help parents and children practice activities that develop early learning and literacy skills.
